The Argyle squad for the 2015/16 season.

Kelvin Mellor

After winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and promotion from League 2 with Crewe, Mellor, 23, signed for Argyle at the start of the 2014/15 season.

 

A tall, versatile right back, Mellor rejected an offer to join Championship Derby County in 2012.

Gary Sawyer

Gaz started his career at Argyle, after having been born in Bideford.

He played in the Championship for Argyle, and rejoined as Derek Adams' first signing as Argyle boss.

Carl McHugh

McHugh was a star of the Bradford side which made it to the League Cup final a few years ago, however after losing his position in the team, he left the Bantams and joined Argyle.

 

A no nonsense centre half, he is also comfortable playing as a left back, and is now plying his trade as a defensive midfielder.

Peter Hartley

Peter Hartley made his debut in the Championship for Sunderland. Since then he's played for Hartlepool and Stevenage.

 

Hartley is Argyle's vice captain.

Josh Simpson

A proper, rugged central midfielder with an eye for goal, Josh was Crawley Town's captain when he signed for Argyle in 2015.

Curtis Nelson

Nelson is a relatively young captain, but his lack of numbers in age doesn't show at all in the way he plays.

 

Nelson joined from the Stoke youth academy, and made his debut aged just 17. 4 years have passed, and nearly 150 games later, Curtis is looking like a leader who can help take Argyle upwards.

Lee Cox

Before the Cambridge game at the start of the 14/15 season, Cox hadn't played a competetive game in nearly 12 months.

 

Cox had spent time at Argyle before, on loan in the 2012/13 season. He impressed fans and manager, and thus his well welcomed return to the Greens.

Reuben Reid

Reuben Reid started his career at Plymouth Argyle, and after spells at West Brom, Peterborough, Wallsall and Yeovil, Reid rejoined the Pilgrims on loan in the 2012/13 season.
He then signed on loan again for the next season - scoring 21.
He signed on a permanent for the next season, and repeated his goal tally.

Graham Carey

An agile, creative player, Graham can play down the left flank or in the middle, which is where he has featured for Argyle in pre-season of the 15/16 season.

Carey had previously played for Celtic, St Mirren, Ross County and Huddersfield Town before signing for Argyle to meet up with former boss Derek Adams.

Gregg Wylde

The former Rangers and St Mirren man signed for Argyle in 2015.

A pacey agile winger, Wylde has all the promise to be a vital player for Argyle this season.

Green Army

The member of the team who will never leave.

They won't ask for a transfer.

They won't be deemed surplus to requirements.

 

Aaand yes, they can do it on a cold Tuesday night in Stoke.

 

The best fans imaginable, through thick and thin, good and bad.

Jake Jervis

The former Portsmouth man was at Ross County before he signed for Argyle.

Strong, tall and fast - Jervis has all the attributes to be a top quality striker in this division.

Tyler Harvey

He's one of our own. A centre forward turned centre mid who scored on his full debut against Torquay United in the 90th minute.

 

Last season, he scored in another derby, a fantastic free kick was the first goal in the 3-0 win over Exeter City.

Ben Purrington

Ben Purrington started his footballing career at his home town club. Exeter City.

 

After being released by their youth system, Argyle signed him and he made an impact in his first season as a pro. Scoring vs Port Vale in the FA Cup and playing well at left back in the league.

Ryan Brunt

Ryan Brunt spent his early career at Bristol City, but has since played for Bristol Rovers, as well as having 6 loan spells.

He signed an 18 month deal in January, after his release by the Gasheads, and has made a great impact at Argyle since his signing.

Deane Smalley

Deano had played for Oxford, Chesterfield, Oldham, Rochdale and Bradford before signing for Argyle.

 

On his home debut, he scored a 97th minute equaliser from the spot against Stevenage, but has since suffered cruciate ligament damage and didn't return to the playing field for almost an entire year.

Aaron Bentley

The young centre half came through Argyle's youth ranks, and made his League 2 debut at home to Dagenham.
8 days, and 3 games, later Aaron was sent off vs Oxford. He hasn't featured in Argyle's first team since.

Hiram Boate- 
Alan Smith?

Hiram was Derek Adams' first loan signing. The box to box midfielder coming down here from PL side Crystal Palace.

Hiram has since returned to Palace, with Alan Smith the rumoured replacement.

James Bittner

James had spent almost all of his career in the non league, playing for Hereford, Exeter, Salisbury, Woking and Forest Green.

 

He made his debut vs Morecambe, coming off the bench for the injured Luke McCormick. And he made his full debtu away to York in the 15/16 season.

Callum Hall

An agile player who has come through the youth ranks, Callum can play all the way down the left hand side.

Luke McCormick

Coventry born McCormick is regarded by many as Argyle's best ever goalkeeper. He showed great consistensy battling for the goalkeeping spot against Romain Larrieu, but after causing death by dangerous driving in 2008, he was imprisoned.

 

In 2012 he made his return to football, playing for Truro and Oxford until he re-signed for Argyle in May 2013, and has been first choice keeper ever since.

Louis Rooney

Louis was offered a professional contract after scoring an impressive 21 goals for the U-18s the season before.

Ryan Lane

Although Ryan is not a professional, he has been around Argyle's first team set up for a while, after he scored a wonder goal vs Milton Keynes in the pre-season of 2013-14.
Following 2 long term injuries, Ryan featured a lot in Derek Adams' first pre-season with Argyle.

Oscar Threlkeld

Oscar came in on loan from Bolton.

A versatile defender, he's made his mark in Argyle's midfield, starring alongside Carl McHugh and Hiram Boateng.

Craig Tanner

Tanner made an instant impact at Argyle, when he played very well for Reading's U-21s in a friendly at Home Park.

And he's made an impact in the Green shirt too, playing in behind the stiker, or out wide.

Cory Harvey

Cory, like Ryan Lane, isn't a professional, but he has featured in several first team squads.

An athletic goalkeeper, Cory is the younger brother of Argyle striker Tyler Harvey.
