STAFF PROFILES:

Derek Adams
Manager

After taking Ross County to the Scottish Premier League, Adams was appointed as Argyle boss after John Sheridan's resignation.

You can read a profile about Adams here:

Some fans have labelled him as being "the Scottish Graham Westley", the "most despised man in Scottish football" and as being "a chequebook manager with no man-management skills"... ...it's going to be one bumpy and exciting season ahead of us for Derek Adams and Plymouth Argyle.

Craig Brewster
Assistant Manager

In a career spanning 25 years, Brewster scored over 300 goals in over 700 games, most notably for Forfar, Dunfermline and Greek side Ionikos.

After retiring, he managed Dundee United and Inverness, and had 2 spells as caretaker manager at Crawley Town. He has since been the assistant manager at Whitehawk, and a youth coach at Brighton and Hove Albion.

He joined former teammate and manager Derek Adams for the 2015/16 season as Argyle's assistant manager.

Paul Wotton
First Team Coach

It's very unlikely 'Wottsy' will ever have to buy himself a drink in Plymouth ever again. A defender-come-midfielder renowned for ferocious free kicks and penalties.

He cemented his place in the Argyle  side, and was very quickly named club captain in 2001-02, guiding Argyle to the Third Division title, and then to the Second Division title in 2003-04.

He soon became a goal scoring midfielder, finishing as the club's top scorer 2 seasons in a row.

After a very successful return to the club, scoring 3 in 53, he signed on for the 2014-15 season as a player-coach, but after not making any appearances, he retired at the end of 2014-15.
He then signed on under Derek Adams as a coach.

James Bittner
Goalkeeping Coach
/Player

James, 32, has spent almost all of his career in the non league, playing for Hereford, Exeter, Salisbury, Woking and Forest Green.

He made his football league debut vs Morecambe, coming off the bench for the injured Luke McCormick.

He signed a new deal for 2015/16 as a player with a coaching role, under new manager Derek Adams.

Greg Strong
Chief Scout

Greg played for many a club in England, in a list that includes Bolton, Stoke, Hull and Wigan. He also played north of the border, for Motherwell, Livingston and Dundee.

Greg was player-manager at Welsh side Rhyl for 7 years, before leaving to become Derek Adams' chief scout.

Kevin Hodges
Academy Manager

An Argyle legend, Kevin stands as the clubs' highest ever appearance maker.

An all-round midfielder, Hodges went to Torquay in his last few years of playing and went on to manage them, then Argyle, then Clevedon Town.

Hodges returned to Argyle in 2008 with a bunch of roles, mainly involving youth team development.

Martin Starnes
Chief Executive

Martin joined Argyle as Cheif Executive in July 2013, leaving then newly promoted Yeovil Town to take up the role on the Argyle board.

He was brought in as an advisor to Brent, Starnes' wealth of football knowledge being what Brent lacked.

Pilgrim Pete
Club Mascot

Not many mascots can claim to have a bigger moustache than Pilgrim Pete.

From his pictures with younger fans, to the comedic trip in front of the away supporters, Pete is a well recognised member of the Argyle family, even if who's inside isn't given the credit.

In 2008, Pete came 17th out of 65 in the Mascot Grand National.

The origins of Pete aren't so clear, the most common story says that he was a Pilgrim father himself who fell of the boat at Drake's Island.  His love of Argyle is natural. His 3 foot moustache, not so much.

Paul Atkinson
Head Physiotherapist

Paul started his physiotherapy footballing career at Argyle, and after an 8 year spell with Hearts and Dunfermline in Scotland, Atkinson rejoined Argyle in 2010 as a head physiotherapist, and is one of few names who have remained on the pay roll through these difficult recent years.

Paul is duly assisted by Vicki Hannaford behind the scenes.

James Brent
Chairman

James Brent is an experienced hotelier and major shareholder, who bought Argyle "accidentally" in 2011, rescuing the club from liquidation.

Hotel group Akkeron and clothing store Saltrock are the 2 most notable of Brent's enterprises, and he has dreamt up other plans for further development. He was recently named Chair of Governors at Plymouth University.

Billy White
Head Groundsman

Billy, born and bred in Plymouth, started working for Argyle in 2011 when the club came out of administration.

Billy and his team were Highly Commended in the League 2 Groundsmen of the Year last season with help from his colleague Marc Chenery and the rest of the staff.

In 2014-15, Billy won Groundsman of the Year.

The Argyle Angels
Club Cheerleaders

They've gone missing.

   ....aaaand everyone else

Those behind the scenes and those right in front of you on a match-day.

Marketers, programme and ticket sellers, cameramen, media workers, caterers, drivers, chefs, kitmen, receptionists, and even stewards all do their best to ensure the club works like a well oiled machine, day in, day out.
